Viola Ardeni is a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate and her research focuses on the fairy tale through the theoretical lenses of narratology, psychoanalysis, and feminist criticism. She is also interested in Children’s Literature and environmental criticism.
At UCLA, Viola has an appointment as a Teaching Associate and in the academic year 2016-2017, she served as the T.A. Consultant for the department. Since August 2015, Viola is also the Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Carte Italiane.
Viola earned her B.A. and M.A. at the University of Bologna, and she studied as an exchange student both at the University of Montpellier (France) and at UCLA. She published on Carte Italiane, Italian Culture, and in the edited volume Ecocritical Approached to Italian Culture and Literature: The Denatured Wild (Lexington, 2016).
