Joseph Tumolo, a Ph.D. student, is interested in modern and contemporary Italian literature, critical theory, and Italian-American studies. Before beginning his Ph.D. at UCLA, Joseph earned an M.A. in Italian Literary & Cultural Studies from the University Connecticut, and a B.A. summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in Italian Language & Literature from Fordham University. He has taught Italian language and literature and Italian-American cinema at the University of Connecticut and Trinity College, and has presented his research on topics ranging from neorealist literature, the Risorgimento, and the novels of John Fante.
