Daniel Stein Kokin (Ph.D., Harvard University) is the 2016-2017 Viterbi Visiting Professor for the Department of Italian at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also Junior Professor for Jewish Literature and Culture at the University of Greifswald in Germany, and served previously as Jacob and Hilda Blaustein Postdoctoral Associate in the Program in Judaic Studies at Yale University. His primary research interests concern Medieval and early Modern Jewish-Christian relations as reflected in linguistic discourse and visual imagery. He has authored articles on Christian Hebraism, Christian Kabbalah, and Jewish-Christian polemic, and is co-editor of a forthcoming volume of the I Tatti Renaissance library, Renaissance Cabala: Introductory Texts. He is currently completing his first book, The Hebrew Question in the Italian Renaissance.
