Attention all Undergraduates, Staff and Faculty interested in languages, world cultures, and/or the Humanities: You are invited to participate in a series of meetings, where you will discover how words/concepts essential to the human experience across cultures have acquired different meanings in different languages due to specific historical, social, political, and cultural contexts. The Galenic tradition of anatomy and medicine had been re-introduced to physicians and early anatomists of the quatro- and cinquecento. His descriptions were accepted and taught without challenge in Italian schools of anatomy and medicine throughout that period and beyond.
