Sicilian Concert & Dance Workshop

Oct 11 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Join musicians Michela Musolino and Fabio Turchetti on a fascinating voyage exploring the rich
history of Sicilian musical traditions and culture. Members of the band Terra Sangue Mare,
Musolino and Turchetti will perform Sicilian folk and roots music, including both traditional and
contemporary songs as well as some original compositions. The group’s recently released CD
was included in Pop Matters’ list of The Twelve Best World Music Albums for 2016 and is played
on world music radio stations around the globe.

Michela Musolino is an internationally recognized Sicilian-American singer and the granddaughter
of Sicilians immigrants. She has re-discovered her own cultural roots through the
study and reinterpretation of the folk songs of Sicily and Southern Italy. Fabio Turchetti is a
composer and accordionist from Cremona who performs around the world and authors books
on music.

This is a free event. Light refreshments will be served. No RSVP required. The Royce Hall North Balcony is located in Royce Hall on the third floor between rooms 334 and 340.
